I hold a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in English Language and Literature from the University of Hertfordshire in UK. The content of my Bachelors’ degree offered me an insight of English Literature, language and linguistics. I also hold a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Jyväskylä. My specialization is on pedagogical issues, and the Master thesis on the inclusion of students with Emotional and Behavioural Disorders. I also attended 120 hours of teaching English as foreign language seminars. My nationality is Greek, but I have always worked as an English Teacher.

Experience

Regarding my work experience, I worked as an English tutor for students with various ages, and as and English Language teacher in a private language school in Greece. My duties involved lesson planning, grouping, playing educating games, combining learning with leisure and generally spending quality time with the children. During my teaching career, I have developed great interest in classroom heterogeneity and in the ability to meet and appreciate the potential of all students. I believe in a holistic manner in education, aiming both at knowledge and personal development. As a person, I am kind, conscientious and efficient. I am able to harmoniously collaborate with others and work independently under a variety of circumstances. My personal values and ethos renders me worthy of trust, while remaining positive no matter the difficulties. I enjoy interacting with young people and being responsible for their intellectual and personal growth. I am indeed happy to engage them in subjects about which I am passionate, while witnessing their development through a period of time. The idea to actively help them explore the world greatly appeals to me.
